Question

This will probably sound silly, but I just bought a house and all the bathroom sinks have their stopper hooked/locked somehow within the pipe (I'm use to loose/free/unconnected stoppers that you can pull out to clean and plop back in). What's happening now is that I can't remove them to clean off the soap/hair/gunk that they are catching. My dad managed to unhook 2 of them that were kind of like push-down-and-turn, but the rest don't seem to be unhookable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. TSI

In the picture below you will see probably how your pop-up works, under the sink on back side of pop-up drain is the nut that hold the pivet rod in place, unscrew this and pull back on it, this will release to stopper in the sink.
