Question

I have a 50 yr old building with an outside concrette pad dogrun, fenced in. The concrete drains to a small drain in the center. The previous owner says it is drained into a 50 gallon drum filled with gravel and it acts like a mini septic tank. Now it's clogged up with probably 50 yrs of grit, gravel and dog poo. I can repair it but properly hitching it to the sanitary line would be to expensive. Should I try this?

I think you can treat it with chemicals & restore it to its original glory. I wouldn't bother tying it into the main septic system. A pet supply place should have enzyme cleaners that will dissolve the dog "leavings." There are also some flushable septic tank cleaners that you might try (ask at a rural hardware store.)
