Is there such a thing? I just had our basement shower floor retiled. I noticed that near the drain the grout is a different color. I've determined that it is from standing water that never went down the drain. Is this bad for the grout? Should I put some kind of sealer on it so it doesn't soak through (is that possible?)?

You should seal the grout with a silicon grout sealer. Check the ceramic tile section of any home improvement center (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) or check with a local tile shop.
