Rotten Cast Iron Stack

Tucked beneath the stairs and secluded behind a wall, I have discovered the main cast iron sewer stack fruning to the city sewage line. Unfortunately, I also found six inch long, rotted out scar on same sewer stack, and now have a wet and smelly basement. This all happens about 4 feet from the basement floor and about 3" down from a junction on the cast iron pipe.

Is it time to call a professional, or is there something I can do my self?

Thanks in advance.

The damaged cast iron section can be cut out and replaced with pvc. The pros have the tools to cut the cast iron and I recommend you give them a call. They can handle it very quickly.
