Basement Bathroom

I hope someone out there can offer us some advice...we would like to put a bathroom in our basement...we have a nice sized space next to our hot water heater, would that be ok? How does that waste exit the toilet and shower? Is this something only an expert plumber should do or could we do it ourselves? We have 2 sump pumps and a french drain system, so our basement is now dry. Any ideas? Thanks!

Basement installation of new plumbing id not a DIYS job, there is too much you need to do and know about it, please consult a local plumber.
