Question

Unable to remove broken toilet seat - bolts have no screwdriver insert, only plastic nuts underneath. Seat has been on a long time and am unable to turn the nut without mangling it. Any suggestions?

Cool

At the base of the seat on top of the toilet are two plastic pop-up caps over the slotted tops of the plastic bolts. Take a small screwdriver and pop up these little caps. Use a big screwdriver and remove the bolts. Good Luck!

sorry, it's not that type of seat. It is a decorative wooden type and doesn't have plastic caps covering the screws, just brass non-slotted ones.

Cool

O.K. Then you can simply saw off the bolts with a hacksaw blade. Tape a piece of cardboard between bowl and blade to keep from scratching china bowl. Brass bolts should saw through easily. Good Luck!
