I have a "chattering" noise in my sprinkler system daily.
It is not water hammer as it is an ongoing thing until the
sprinklers shut off. The sound emanates only from
the front spigot where the system is hooked up through
a "t" in the spigot line. Any suggestions as to how to fix
this clicking, chattering noise? I have to run it in the morning
to achieve maximum pressure, but the noise wakes my
kids up. The spigot is under my son's window. Any help
you can give would be appreciated.

thanks,

On a guess, there's likely a backflow preventer (a type of check valve) at the point where irrigation joins the house plumbing. When they get older, these are prone to get noisy, a new one should solve the problem.
