Water Heater Leak
#1

My water heater is leaking and know nothing about it - it is in a corner closet and hard to get to. What do I need to look for and any suggestions for repair?

WHERE is it leaking from? T-P valve at top? Drain valve at bottom? From around elements? Around bottom of tank/heater? If it is the first 3, it can probably be repaired. If the tank is leaking, you need to replace the heater. If you need any more info, just come back in here and ask. I'm not a plumber, but maybe I can help you, or certainly one of the pros in here can. Good Luck! Edit: Since it is in a closet, it is probably an electric heater. Turn OFF water heater breaker at electrical panel before you start wading through water and looking at it. There also should be a cold water supply shutoff valve on top. Turn that off to slow leak down to just what is in the tank.
