well water treatment?
#1

Is there anything that can be put directly into a well for treatment? Especially for that rotten egg smell?

The only thng that is normally ever put in a well is a few gallons of bleach to decontaminate bacterial pollution (such as from a nearby septic system). The bleach has to be thoroughly flushed from the well and lines (after setting up overnight) before use again.
The best way to "treat" well water for every day use from the main line as it goes into your home is (a) through a water softener to reduce water hardness, (b)through a carbon filter to improve taste and odor, and (c) through an oxidizing filter followed by a carbon filter to reduce hydrogen sulfide gas (the rotten egg odor).
Good Luck!
