Rust holes found in tub by drain

I noticed my carpet in my living room was getting wet after taking a shower. I unscrewed the metal drain and noticed two rust holes in the tubwhere the drain mesh met the tub. I dont really want to replace the tub, what other options do i have??

Installing a new drain assembly should do the trick. as long as there are no rust holes found, outside arounf the drain it's self.
