Nothing like having a sink in the laundry room, which also connects to the garage. Hot water heater is in the same room. Question is this: How difficult is it to install a sink in that room? Most of the pipes are exposed, but i am not averse to going into the wall. Curious how difficult to set up drainage, etc..

I'm not a plumber, but it should not be difficult to install a sink in a utility room. You already have hot and cold water supply lines, and an adequate sized drain line (for your washer).
If the pipes are exposed, that should make it even easier. You didn't say what type of pipes you have, but if they are cpvc (required for hot water) and pvc cold water and drain, then that would be the easiest. Just cut, clean, prime and glue.
You just have to T into the hot and cold water lines for the faucet (hot water on left, cold water on right under sink), and slope the drain 1/4"-per-foot from your sink trap to a street-T into the drain line. Depending upon how far your sink is away from the washer drain, you may have to install an under-the-sink vent in the line from the trap to the drain.Install cutoff valves under the sink for both water lines.
