Had the water valve shut off

The air will bleed out, a few flushes will do the trick.

Thumbs down

It's been this way for six months now. When tank is refilling there is a loud noise going through the pipe.

Are you sure the noise is coming from air?Verypossibly the washer on your fixture shut off came loose when you turned it back on, This will make a steady rumbling sound.
Good luck, plumber john
