Question

The showerhead keep withdrawing into the wallboard. The flange fitting doesn't seem to be enough to hold it in place. It is the elbow section that won't remain out. It is a new home. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you

The flange (called an escutcheon) is purely cosmetic, and isn't supposed to hold the pipe. The fitting (usually a "drop-eared ell") behind the wall is supposed to be securely attached to the framing (usually a 2x4 crossbrace between studs). Since it's a new home, I'd call the builder back and ask for an explanation. I think the plumber screwed up.
