I have constucted a new septic system. All basement sewer plumbing must be rerouted. How slight an angle or how steep must the angle of 3" PVC be to be sure it gets out to the septic tank?

Drain lines, regardless of how large or small they are, need to fall at a rate of at least 1/4" per foot.

Hot water heater

I changed the upper heating element on the water heater for a friend. I then set both thermostats to the minimum setting (110). however, after re-filling the tank and turning on the power, the pressure relief valve opened after about 15 min., flooding the laundry room with very hot water. could the problem be the thermostat, or someting else? This is an urgent plee for help!!!! thanks

No hot water pressure in the kitchen

We have replaced the cutoff valve and everything past it on the kitchen hot water line. When replacing the valve, a piece broke off and fell in the line. I need to drain this line from the lower level of the house to get this out, however, there is no cutoff valve from the hot water tank on the line going throughout the house, only at the individual faucets. I can remove the shower head on the lower level and drain the hot water lines, however, how do I do this without draining the hot water tank as well?
