Roots and re-piping plumbing line.

Hello all! I am sure my story is the same as most of those how have encoutered roots in thier pipes.

Home was built in the late 50's and I am having to use a heavy duty snake everyother month to clear it out--its time to redo it.

The pipe is about 30ft stright to the city's main sewer line.

Please give me links and suggestions for doing this myself.

Do I need a permit in the state of Florida?

Thanks ever so much,

Joe

Not sure where in Fla. you live but I lived in Ocala and you needed a permit to do anything. Don't change the color of your toilet paper without a color changing permit.

You will want to change it to PVC pipe as this will not let the roots into the pipe.

You should be able to dig up the old pipe and replace with the PVC. Make sure you use the correct transition coupling( the piece that goes between the old line and the new PVC)

Good luck with the permits department and post back with the results.
