Pipes make noise on their own

Hi, guys...as background, this weekend, I finished tiling the bathroom and reinstalled the toilet. Went smooth, new wax ring and all.

About 2 hours later, I was running the dishwasher and the I suddenly heard a banging noise. like someone was rapping on the plumbing with a piece of wood that went for about 30 seconds, then faded off. I thought maybe I had something caught in the dishwasher, so I openned it up and checked, I didn't.

A few hours later, while laying in bed with nothing running, I heard the noise again, lasted for about 15 seconds, then faded off, and I haven't heard anything since.

First...anyone know what it might be?
Second...could it have anything to do with the toilet being reinstalled or is it just timing
Third...someone mentioned to me that my pipes might have to be bled?

John

What is the water pressure in the house and do you have a pressure reducing valve on the main inlet?

Yu can buy a pressure guage that screws on to a hose bibb, relatively inexpensively
