Renovate 1950s shower drain

I have removed a tile shower stall (walls and pan) and have encountered an old rusty drain/flange. I don't know the anatomy of the shower drain, so cannot figure out how to remove/replace/modify in preparation for replacing the concrete shower pan. Can anyone shed light on what to do this this old drain...short of tearing up the slab foundation?

I removed the top portion by twisting off 3 rusted bolts. I broke some of the concrete slab just enough to see below grade...but cannot see a connection point for removing the flange.

Thanks.

Sorry to tell you this, but you have to open the slab to replace or install the new shower drain.

While your in slab area replace the trap whit a new trap also.
