OK to conceal gas black pipe behind drywall?

Hi all,

I'm finishing my basement and there are areas of the ceiling that I wish to finish with drywall. There is a gas line run with black pipe that will be hidden in some areas by the drywall. These areas will have some joints, elbos and couplers, in the pipe. Is there any issue with hiding this behind drywall?

thanks,
Greg

No problem at all in doing so. This sort of thing gets done quite frequently.

I believe the unions will have to be left accessible, but I'm not a plumber.
