washer supply valve box installed height

Any one know if there is code or just a simple answer to what is a practical height to install the valve manifold box that suppies the washing machine? Thanks bjr23

Not sure if it's code or just a selected height but most I have installed were 45" to the inside bottom of the box. One thing you have to consider is the length of the discharge hose on the washer. You want it to be firmly into the discharge pipe so it does not jump out when the washer spins. Good luck.

Yep, 45" sounds about right. Although when we replaced ours and added a utility sink we raised ours to 50". Figured the next washer would be a front loader and probably on a mounting base. We wanted easy access to the valve for shutting the water off when not in use. We also did the one with the single lever, instead of two knobs to shut off.
