Help with clogged washing machine drain line

My washing machine drain line is clogged, with what a plumber I called said was a buildup of washing powder, lint, etc. They charge a minimum of $100 to clear it, but told me I might try putting a water hose down as far as it would go, then turn on full force and that might work.

Any other ideas I might try before paying for the plumber?
I saw another post mention a product called Drain Care for a clogged toilet problem; would that work on this type drain? I'd rather not use a caustic chemical product.

We tried a snake type thing but it went so far and then stopped, but then it was only 15 ft. long.

Help!

I would go for the Drain Care. It is an enzyme drain cleaner that clings to the clog and eats it. It takes overnight and may take more than one treatment. But it DOES work. About $8 at home centers, Walmart and Ace. It is safe for septic systems.
Soaps have oils in them and the lint is always a problem with washing machine drains. Good luck.
