Backup Problem

The drain in the washroom for my washer machine is backing up whenever the washer drains. I notice that when running the sink, water will back up out of there also. I snaked the drain in the washroom, and it got a little better, but still having the same problem. What could the problem be? Any insight would be appreciated thanks.

Shont32, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
The two drains are probably connected and the lint from the washer is causing a clog.
Since you didn't get the whole job done by snaking you may want to try something else. What most likely happens is that when you snake, the snake goes through the lint and then the hole closes up again.
Try an enzyme drain cleaner called Drain Care. It clings to the clog and "eats" it. (as long as it is not tree roots). It takes overnight and may take more than one application but it DOES work. Unlike caustic drain cleaners that pass right by the clog. Costs about $8 and is available at Home Centers, Ace, Walmart and even some grocery stores.
Good luck and reply back with any further questions.
