Question Washing Machine draining & blowing bubbles in toilet

A few years ago we redid the plumbing. All has been well until just recently When the washing machine drains the toilet will bubble. It just seems to be air and does not overflow or anything but obviously this is not right. Can someone please advise what the problem may be and how to fix it. Am very curious why this would start up after a few years. Help !!!!!Pleazzzzzzzz
TIA
Jan

Sounds like you may have a partial clog building up in the main drain line.
You can rent a heavy-duty plumber's snake, open a main line clean-out and snake it from there to the street or septic to clear it (unless it's roots).
Good luck!

Thanks Mike,
UGH....We have our own septic tank so I think we will lift the lid and perhaps the clog is right there where it drains, if so I guess its time to pump it out UGH was hoping for another year. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction...wish me luck for when I unplug that sucker that it doesn't explode everywhere.
Thanks Again

It shouldn't be plugged that badly if it's still draining.
And snaking from a clean-out to a septic tank is far easier than all the way out to a public street.
You don't have to open the septic tank, just a clean-out plug.
(However, septic tanks should be routinely pumped out at least every five years anyway.)
Good Luck!
Mike
