Shower Pipes
Our existing shower has a piece of 3/4" pipe that extends 20" above the rough-in for the shower control with an end cap. This piece of pipe is on both the hot and cold sides and is fastened by a Tee with one side coming from the supply, one side going to the rough-in and the other side going to the 3/4" pipe. The remainder of the supply is 1/2". What are the 3/4" lengths of pipe for?

Shower Pipes, another question
Are they worth leaving installed? We are installing a new rough-in for Delta Jetted Shower with two body jets and shower head. Couldn't find any reference to this type of plumbing arrangement.
Thanks
