Garbage disposal

I had a new disposal installed by a plumber in a new double stainless sink.
the old disposal was in the Left sink, my wife wanted to move it to the right side(next to the dishwaser) This was done. The discharge hose was installed on the side of the disposal thru a knock-out hole. Water will sometimes back up thru the dishwasher discharge hose and wind up in the dishwaser. Sometimes the water is dirty and it appears very unsanitary. The discharge hose from the dishwasher is at the base of the cabinet under the sink. I did not have this problem with the old disposer.

Any help on this problem would be appreciated

The dishwasher hose should not be at the base of the cabinet. It is supposed to be looped over the top of the cupboard to prevent just what it is doing. Sometimes a hole has to be cut in the cabinet wall to do this but that is proper installation. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I kinda figured that hose needed to be above the knock out plug on the side of the disposer. Looks like I am in for some hole drilling and some hose snakin. I will probly have to pull dishwsher out to get to the hose to re-route. Thanks for the help !

Yeah, you'll probably have to pull the DW but look at the top of the cabinet and sometimes where the braces are, there is already a pretty good size opening. May save a little cutting. Good luck.
