pvc waterline leak

I have 1/2inch black pvc waterline coming into house form outside
the pipe comes out of the cement floor and it started leaking about 2 inches from the bottom
I cut the pipe and i am trying to couple it together
I am not sure what i should be using to join it together
Should i be using an insert and clamps or some kind of compression fitting
I am curently without water and any advice would be appreciated

My other alternative is to replace the pvc with copper lines which means diggin up the yard and disassembling a deck that is in the way

Any1 with any insight to this problem HELP

tks in advance

bellababy, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Most PVC is made to be glued. Check the pipe and see if there is printing on it. You may have ABS and not PVC. Using glue and a coupling will give you piece of mind. Compression fittings can and do come off. Good luck.

Wink

When all I know is you have a 1/2"black plastic pipe. Most of them go together with that

Should i be using an insert and clamps
I think you got it. might want to put 2 clamps on each side
