Hot water pipes make high pitch noise

When someone is in the shower, the hot water pipes make a high pitch noise. The noise seems to originate about 10 feet after the hot water heater. The noise has gotten louder over the past few weeks. I have easy access to the pipes but am not sure what to do. Please help!

Any chance any valves been shut off recently, and in that shower, is there a tub spout?

I've got the same problem as you. Ours doesn't do it all the time and will often stop after it's started. The only thing different that we do is adjust the hot water flow and it seems to stop it some time. It's almost like there are certain spots on the valve that make it whine.
