dishwasher diverter valve leaking
please help!!!
installed a new dishwasher. i ended up replacing the following: hot water shutoff valve; hot water line to faucet; and water supply line to the d/w itself. i have a very small (about 1 drip every minute or so) coming from where the shutoff valve attaches to the main incoming hot water supply. -opposite side from the handle.. it's very hard to reach with wrenches, but im pretty sure i tightened it enough.. could i have over-tightened it? if so-what now to fix??
i used liquid teflon on all the threads- and there are no leaks at the dishwasher end of the line or at the faucet.
(the shutoff valve is a split= incoming hot water to d/w and faucet... like a 'y' connector)
is there any easy way to stop the leak other than taking everything apart again and trying a new shutoff valve?????
thanks for any help.
also- i have read differing thoughts on applying teflon (tape or liquid) to certain threads on connectors. what is the best way? apply to male and female? or just the male threads??? gas line vs. water line??

1. What type of piping do you have
2. What is your water pressure
3. Are you reusing any plumbing materials
4. Did you overtighten the compression ferrules
5. What type of piping are you using for dishwasher
6.
