Red face Leak in pipe

Dear DIY Guys,
I have a leak in at my pvctransition joint between my water main and my home. I do not have much experience with outdoor plumbing matters. I am a visual person, so if anyone has an illustrated how to or a diagram to hasten my repair of this annoying problem. I have turned the water main off, so my wife is not in the best mood. Also, we obviously can not flush the toilets or bathe until this is rectified. This is majorly nasty.
Sincerely,
Matt & his cool chick

Is the transitioning joint a coupling? I am a little lost so bear with me. If you have PVC pipe from the street and PVC pipe to the house I have to assume that there is a coupling there. If so, it is merely a matter of cutting out the coupling and replacing it with a short piece of PVC pipe and 2 couplings. One at each end of the sort piece of pipe. Reply back with further questions or info. Good luck.
