Backflow Preventor makes noise when running water

Hi, I installed a backflow preventor or pressure breaker on a outside faucet. It is a small threaded piece bought from Home Depot that you can simply fasten on the faucet and fasten the garden hose on its other end. It makes a loud noise sound like wuuuu whenever I use the hose. Can someone please shed some lights? Whether the noise signals a faulty device or it is normal. Thanks!

I think the backflow preventer is causing a restriction and the water pressure is making the noise. Some of these anti-siphon devices are merely a ball that stops the flow of water back into the main supply. I would take it back and explain the problem. It should not make any noise. Good luck.

Could be defective, could be a cheap antisiphon, could be too high of pressure on the faucet... My question is, why are you installing it to begin with?
