tying in PVC to Crock? Depth?
I have an existing 6inch sewer line (Crock) that is buried only 3 feet below ground outside of my foundation wall. From the foundation wall to the inside of the crawl space is PVC. I have to tie in the PVC to the crock outside the foundation, adding a clean out at the same time. Am I going to have a problem witht the PVC cracking since it is not below the 42 inch Michigan frost line. Can I use something other than PVC to get around not being below the frost line.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Rob

I don't see a problem as long as you connect everything so it drains.
Frost line burial usually applies to water lines in plumbing codes. MI may have it own plumbing code that specifies the burial of sewers but usually there is just vague language that states "shall be protected or adequate protection shall be made" in regards to sewers.
Good luck with your project. More questions, ask and someone will answer them.
