Basement venting question

I am putting a sink in my finished basement. The sink is located about 8'-9' from an exposed drain pipe from the up stairs kitchen sink. This drain is vented through the roof. I would have to make a 90 degree turn to tie in with this drain. I live in an area without building codes. Would it work for me to tie this new drain in with the existing drain?

Sink in basement

If you are tying into a 2in. drain it might be o.k. but you will need a vent up to 6 1n. above the flood level rim of the highest fixture connected. Since you have no codes you can do what you want, but its a bad idea to run that distance without a vent. Hopes this helps.
