PEX Talk Time.

I'm curious to hear some of the opinions people have toward PEX. I'm liking it for many reason and would like to know what some others think.

Also, what do you think about for running a distance to hot water baseboard heat? (3/4")

Lastly, there a few compression and expansion tools... what's your favorite brand/style?

Love PEX

Just finished a new addition and ran PEX for the first time. I really enjoyed the ease of installation. It's quick, easy, and you don't risk burning down the house with soldering (except for the final connections through the wall).

I used "official PEX" brand tools/fittings. I found the fittings nominal in price and the expander tool a bit "spendy" for a one time job. However, I sold the expander on E-bay for more than I paid for it new. The overall cost was more than it would have cost me to run copper - but the ease of installation made it an easy choice. All in all, a great experience.

Hope you have success!
