basement sprinkler install

I'm thinking of installing one sprinkler head above my oil boiler in the basement.
There are plenty of cold water supply lines to T, for a supply to the sprinkler.
Is there anything more complicated to installing a sprinkler head, than running and soldering the copper 1/2" pipe?

Thanks.

I would check with your local authority of buildings and construction on this one; a dedicated check valve is needed to separate this line since it would be considered a dead end if you branch this line off of a main line of any distance over a few inches. Sounds overkill but dead ends in potable water systems can cause health issues.

They may give the go ahead to not use the check valve. If it was a 10 foot line, a check valve would be a must have.
