Question water spicket on north wall

I turned the water on today and water ran out from in the wall on the outside and on the inside of the wall but when i shut it off it quit leaking.
can this be fixed without cutting out the wall .

It would appear that you have a Frost-free faucet. The washer that shuts off the water is in the rear (house side) and there is copper tube that runs to the outside handle. You should be able to turn off the house water supply and unscrew the faucet. Measure it,(they come in different lengths) and install a new one. If it broke due to being frozen, that tells me the faucet was not pitched properly towards the outside or that a hose was left connected to it. Good luck.
