Question Copper pipes in cold air return

I'm putting an addition on with a full bath and relocating my water heater. The question is can my copper water pipes run inside a R/A duct. I'm limited on options because of where the lines come out from my crawl space into the new basement. I know I can pass through the R/A the same as the electrical. But I have about 5 feet of copper that would run inside before going back out

In my area, yes. All depends on your codes. Just make sure when you do this, there are grommets installed where the copper penetrates the galvanized panning so that galvanic reaction cannot occur.
