Question washing machine - cold water dribbles in

For a few weeks now when I selected warm/cold, the warm is piping hot and the cold just dribbles in and takes over an hour to fill the tub.

I took the faucet off and tried turning the part that the handle turned with a wrench. Still no more flow. Any ideas? Thanks.

phyllis, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I am a bit confused on what you did to the faucet. Did you disconnect the hose and turn on the faucet to see if the water flowed properly? I am trying to figure out if it is a washer problem or a water supply problem. Let us know. Good luck.

Question washing machine cold water inflow problem

Thanks for replying, dragon.

All I did to the faucet was unscrew the bolt holding it on. I was going to see if the washer was bad, but it seemed OK. Then I dropped the bolt/screw behind the washer!

I tried to operate the inflow with a wrench. It turned both ways but the volume didn't change.

Yes, I am not a plumbing person.

Disconnect the cold water supply hose from the washer. Inside the male end at the washer you should find a screen that is probably clogged with debris. If it is, pull it out with needlenose pliers and get a replacement screen/washer at your hardware store.
