Is a cut off valve access hole required by code for a shower valve? It is a one handle model and everything comes out the front .Small house, easy to get to main valve. Virginia

It's not code anywhere I have ever heard of. Always a good idea but not the law. I have not put one in anywhere in the 3 States I have done plumbing jobs in. Codes are usually for safety and to insure the system works properly. An access door would not do any of these things. A quick call to your local inspection office would settle it. Good luck.

Let us know what the answer is please. Thanks.
