Horizontally connecting 4" pvc to 4" cast iron

Hello,

Planning on replacing the full C.I. DWV with PVC. -- Anyone know if it
would be practical (and code) to use a fernco to horizontally connect pvc to the CI piping after it enters the basement? It sits about 4' above the basement floor runs about 3 1/2' until it rises.

Thanks

You can use Fernco or No-hub (Mission) couplings to connect the two materials. Both are made for transition of materials. Good luck.
