Installing Standup Washer And Dryer
I am going to be moving into an apartment and want to hook up a standup electric washer and dryer, since the building is all electric. I want to know where is the best place to put this unit. Should it be placed in the kitchen near the sink and also how do I hook up the pipes and all. Thanks ahead of time...Peace.PL

I find it strange that there is no existing hookup but one is permitted.

To install a washer & dryer you need: hot & cold water supply adequate for the washer; a stand pipe for the washer drain; a vent on the outside of the building to vent the dryer; a dedicated 240 volt 30 amp circuit + a dedicated 20 amp circuit if the washer and dryer are separate.
Unless these are already installed, you cannot just put these in by yourself. You have to have permission from the building owner and you have to have a licensed plumber and electrician pull the requisite permits and do the work.
