Bathtub drain cracked

I have a tub made of some type of plastic that is cracked at the drain hole. My plumber tells me the only fix is to replace the tub. Hard for me to believe there isn't something I can use to seal the crack. I have thought about using fiber glass cloth on it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I agree that fiberglas repair kit could be used. Color will not match. This probably happened because the tub should have had a mortarbase under it. Plastic type tubs flex when weight is put into them. The mortarbase supports the weight. Good luck.
