Talking WELL WATER STAINS????? New Home owner

My husband and I recently purchased a home which was converted from well water to public water a fe years back. We have noticed that all of the sinks and toilets in our home are stained with a white/chalky substance that is etched in. Our question is whether these marks are from the well water being used over the years or by something else. We have tried to clean it, but noting seems to work. It seesm as if we don't clean our toilets and sinks. I am prretty handy around the house, but this is really a mystery. Thanks to all.

jal239, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Try using a product such as CLR. Well water contains minerals such as iron and even city water has calcium to some extent. CLR stands for Calcium, Lime and Rust. It works pretty well at removing deposits from all of the above. Follow label directions. Good luck.

Are these all cereamic fixtures? Are you sure that the glaze is still present underneath?
