Front yard water access

So I bought this wonderful house and the only real problem is that the only water outside is at the far end of the house opposet of all our watering needs, plants and lawn. I boutght a mile of hose and just ran the hose around and through the yard but I have to lug and re-route the miles of hose everytime we are doing something with water.

Question is, can I just go buy PVC or copper pipes and run a water line at the base of my house to a good location or am I breaking any codes ?

As long as you are running a water line to feed a hose bib you have no problem. If you decide to install an irrigation system from this feed you would need to install anti-siphon valves to prevent backflow.
