Are there two different "types" of PVC pipe?

I'm familiar with the standard white PVC pipe.

But the pipe used as an access to the diverter value on my septic system is light blue and has the marking: 03034 Cell Class 12454P.

I'm trying to find a 4" clean-out/plug fitting for it, but a regular 4" fitting is about 1/8" too big (loose).

Any ideas?

Thanks
Bob

The pipe you describe sounds like water main. Is the end you are looking at threaded, or is it bulbed with two rubber gaskets in it? You may only be able to find a fitting for it at your local county water department, or a company that installs water main pipe.

Hi Larry,

The fitting that I'm trying to replace on this pipe is a threaded clean-out fitting. But a standard 4" clean-out fitting doesn't fit on it (the pipe is 4-3/16" diameter)...that's why I'm assuming that there are different "kinds" of PVC pipe with their own respective fittings.

Sounds like that's "purple reclaim water pipe". The cities use this to reclaim water for irrigation. You may have to check with them before altering it.
