please help Drain Dissimilar materials?

For a sink drain to connect to the stack pipe, I've currently got a old copper drain line that I need to extend to a new sink location. Should I replace the entire line w/PVC and screw that into the cast iron? Or should I use a neoprene fernco boot and just attache the PVC to the existing copper drain line? Is using one of those boots and good idea?

If its going to be in the wall I would run new PVC pipe from the cast iron pipe. If its inside cabinet you could put on the boot.
