Pipe Noise

Pipe Noise

I live in a 2 story duplex and the tenent downstairs is complaining that everytime i turn on the faucet upstairs then turn it off, it makes this huge thud, if anyone can help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

If it only happens with one faucet you turn on and off, I would say that the line is loose in the wall and when you shut off the water, the line hits a stud or the wall. This is caused by the water pressure in the line. Try turning off the faucet very slowly while the neighbor listens and see if the sound occurs. Good luck.

i think it still does, but the pipes arent in the walls, i had it changed over to copper and it justs runs on the baseboard, so it almost sound like it could be air or somethin im just not sure.
