Gas Meter Cabinet

I got an estimate from the gas co. to move my meter which is currently featured on the most prominent corner of the house. They can't move it very far and it wouldn't look much better unless I would build them a 6x6 foot underground vault.

So the next option is a cover or cabinet. I saw one that looked slick

but that won't work (easily) for my brick house or for the cellnet transmitter that sticks out about three additional inches from the meter body.

Questions:
1. Is there another prefab out there somewhere? (I couldn't find one with Google)
2. If I made one from wood, probably cedar, would the cellnet signal make it through the wood?

Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Contact your local gas supplier and ask to see if it is permitted to build a structure around their meter....along with being able to read a signal through it.

More than likely you'll get an okay to do so.....but check first.
