Air Test?

We are remodeling our kitchen and next year plan to install a new bathroom close to the kitchen. Since the ceiling is open above the kitchen, we are taking the opportunity now to pre-install the future bathroom venting and fan ductwork to run from the future bathroom area (now a hallway) up into the attic area above the kitchen and out the roof and side of the house. We are doing this so we do not have to break into the kitchen ceiling later on. Our plumbing inspector has said that we should do an "air test" so that we don't have to break into the kitchen area later. What is an air test and how do we do it? Thanks.

Your plumbing inspector should have answered that question, sorry.
