Very noisy copper pipes

The problem is every time we turn on any one of the facet, it sounds like the train is coming.
This sound can be heard from anywhere in the house. When the shower is turned on for example, everyone in the house knows because of this sound.
Does anyone know why this is happening and is there a way to reduce the sound or eliminate it completely?

Thanks for any help in advance

soul train

have seen this once before. When shower was used, pipes vibrated and created sound like that of a U-boat just prior to implosion at depth. Problem was a bad washer, gasket or internal diaphram in the toilet fill / float mechanism. Replaced the entire toilet fill valve assy ($20) and solved the problem. You could first try adjusting the toilet float such that the fill level is lower - that could also help.
