Question Does drain vent need to be straight?

I wish to install a wall niche into a space that has a vent line running through the middle of it. After looking at the space, I realize that I can install the niche if I ran the line around it by installing 45 degree angle bends. The niche will be 14 inches in width and the space between the studs is 24 inches. The total deflection of the pipe would be no more that 8 inches. My question is: Does a vent line need to be absolutely straight or can it make these 45 degree bends and still function properly.

As long as the vent has no downward tilting parts that will trap water from above, you will be ok. It is fine to have offsets in vents.
