water heater dielectric heat traps

I am in the process of replacing my hot water heater...current pipes are 3/4 " galvanized. I picked up a dielectric heat trap nipple set along with my installation kit which has 3/4 " braided stainless hoses for the water lines. The package claims that they will prevent corrosion and save energy but I am wary of the restriction in these dielectric heat trap nipples....has anyone had problems with low pressure-low flow rate with these? Thanks for your help!

I installed a new heater about a year ago, it has the little blue flappers in the nipple....notice no difference at all.

Some have a floating ball which I haven't tried so I can't say.
